St. Mary of the Hills provides many educational opportunities for people of all ages. We offer programs for youth and adults at every level of knowledge. Whether you are a "beginner" in your faith journey, or are well on your way, consider joining us for a session that interests you. Please know that you need not be a parish member to participate in the formation programs we provide. Each month, in the second week of the month, GIFT(Generations in Faith Together) sessions are held for all parishioners in the parish. The meal, topic and individual breakout sessions are addressed to specific needs. Scripture is incorporated in these topics and there are discussion as well as other opportunities for sharing our faith. Adults of all ages continue to deepen their relationship with Christ and His Church. GIFT is the primary formation program for children and adults alike! Children who attend public school and wish to receive sacraments for the first time are expected to participate in the GIFT program. GIFT(Generations in Faith Together) Sunday 12:30-3:30 Family GIFT with lunch option – Designed for parents and their children in grades 1-5 (babysitting available). We’ll start with a meal, then the bulk of the time will be spent with parents working with their children to learn new concepts, following a monthly theme. Parents will be given a shorter adult breakout that is PARENT centered. Children will meet with their specific grade at that time. Sunday 4:30-7:00 Family GIFT without meal-- Same format as Sunday 12:30, but without the meal. Wednesday 7:00-9:00 Middle School GIFT / JYG, High School SMYG, and Adult GIFT without meal (no babysitting option) – All middle school students will meet for a youth-centered, fun, yet educational, meeting of their own. Parents can choose to simply drop off their middle schooler, stay to assist as part of the JYG leadership, or attend our adult sessions that are adult-centered, and NOT parent oriented, per se. Adults will have their own, separate, adult only session of GIFT. We hope to bring in speakers and engage adults in formation sessions of good quality. Friday 6:00-9:00 Family GIFT with dinner option– Same format as Sunday 12:30. We will be using the following Bibles in our sessions:
Each household will receive one bible called, The Catholic Family Connections Bible, (New American Bible, published by St. Mary’s Press, Winona, MN, 2010).
Pre-K through Grade 2: Each child will receive a copy of The Beginner’s Bible Zondervan Publishing, copyright 2005.
