The goals of the Music Ministry are to foster active participation of the parish in worship while enriching growth through the Choirs, Ensembles and Cantors. To remind us that our mission is to support each other and serve our parish community, each rehearsal begins with prayer. The Music Ministry has an open door policy and all are welcome and invited to join and share their talents.
Praise Kids (grades K-2) and Children’s Choir (grades 3-5) Rehearses on Tuesdays from 5:30pm -6:20pm on a weekly basis and follows the basic school schedule. Praising God in song in a fun and sometimes loud manner is our goal. While learning the fundamentals of singing, children will be challenged to pray, and to explore music in a nurturing place. Children’s Choir and Praise Kids will sing several times during the year for Mass. Both groups will participate in the Music Ministry Concert in the Spring. Jesus Jam (Grades 6-9) This is the newest addition to our ensembles and is directed by our Band’s Bassist, John Garland. Students who play instruments and sing come together for a weekly rehearsal and play for Mass and special events on occasion. This group rehearses on Tuesdays from 4:05-5pm.
High School Hand Bells (Grades 9-12) All students grades 9-12 are invited to join our handbell choir named, “The Reveille Ringers, in Memory of Sgt. Kyle McClain.” Directed by Bob Sheldrick, this group rehearses weekly and plays for Mass on special occasions. Music reading skills are not required, but are very helpful.
