The focus of CCBC is to read books that convey the complexities of spirituality, morality, or other aspects of living. Some of the books we have read would be considered “classics,” but most are contemporary
books about interesting characters–whether they are real people (biographies/autobiographies) or merely fictional! As such, I
recommend that you take this opportunity to pick up a copy of
our next book.
Our next book is Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, by
Jamie Ford. This historical fiction novel features a bit of romance, but also a look at the internment of Japanese Americans
during WWII and all of the ramifications of being an Asian American in that period of history. Read the book over the summer
and join us at 7:45 PM on September 16 for a lively discussion.
