We join with our worldwide ecumenical family in prayer and action to protect our common home during the annual Season of Creation, September 1–October 4.
This year during the Season of Creation, Christians around the world are taking action in a global advocacy initiative to support the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (FFNPT). This treaty offers a concrete plan to end the expansion of new coal, oil, and gas projects and manage a global and just transition away from fossil fuels to renewable energy. The treaty is an expression of global solidarity to encourage governments, world leaders, and policy-makers to take action—not a binding treaty between nation states. To date, the treaty has been endorsed and signed by the Vatican, dioceses, parishes, many Catholic organizations and religious congregations, as well as countries, states, cities, organizations, and individuals. The Rochester Family of Parishes Creation Care Team recently signed the petition. Will you be next? Learn more about the FFNPT and sign it here: https://fossilfueltreaty.org/
