Catholic Services Appeal (CSA)

“Opening Doors to Grow with Christ” This is the theme for the 2018 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) which is now underway.

Pope Francis says “Lord, help us to live the virtue of generosity, to love without limits.”

The 2018 CSA theme is “Opening Doors to Grow with Christ”.  CSA funds support many programs and ministries of the Archdiocese of Detroit including Catholic education, formation of priests, pro-life advocacy, youth/young adult ministries, senior fellowship, health care, assistance to the homeless and hungry, evangelization, The Michigan Catholic, and much more. For our parish community, CSA means support for Holy Family Regional School, Sacred Heart Seminary, the St. Mary Youth Group (SMYG), Senior Adult Fellowship, Choose Life, St Michael’s Food Pantry, RCIA and other essential ministries.

We are a little over three weeks into our 2018 CSA campaign, “Opening Doors to Grow With Christ,” and wanted to provide everyone with a quick update.  So far, we have received pledges from 162 families amounting to $70,685!  Thank you so much to the families that have contributed so far!  While this is good progress towards our parish goal of $200,000, we still need your help.

If each of the over 1,700 registered families at St. Mary’s of the Hills contributes, we will easily reach our goal.  If your family has not yet participated in the campaign, now is a good time to do so.  Please take a moment to reflect upon the ministries supported by the CSA and prayerfully consider making the most generous gift possible as a steward of Christ.  As you may know, all funds raised in excess of the assessment stay with us untaxed, for use on projects and needs vital to St. Mary of the Hills.  In 2016 and 2017 we used the excess funds toward the budget for a new St Mary of the Hills LED Sign.  As a result of your generosity, we were able to fully fund our project and are looking forward to kicking off construction later this year.  If we reach our Parish goal of $200,000 again this year we will have $25,000 to support those in need at Grovecrest Assisted Living in Pontiac as well as initiate a fund to replace our playground equipment which is now nearly 20 years old.
